Radishes are excellent in salads and as a side vegetable adding color to your plate.  Here you have traditional radishes as well as my first go at heirloom radishes.  Both type started from seeds and mature quite rapidly, which allows for easy and successive harvesting throughout the cooler months.  Radishes grow into the soil, therefore the soil must be loose enough to facilitate this process.  I’m still improving the soil quality in garden #1, so garden #2 and #3 get the benefit of providing nutritious radishes all winter long.
