The tomatillo plant in the background came up on its own; must have been a leftover root from the year prior. The magic of plant life! The tomato plant in the foreground came up on its own as well, so there must be some magic in that soil. In any case, tomatillos make great salsa due to its natural sweetness. It’s a hardy plant and continues to produce throughout a season.
